My Background
I grew up with an artist father who always encouraged me to express myself through art. I started out tracing comic books, but my dad said I needed to create the subject myself and not trace. So, he built me a canvas, set up a still-life for me, and I created my first oil painting at age nine.

I work in several mediums but prefer graphite/charcoal and oils. Using graphite and charcoal allows me to create the real detail I want for some pieces, but I like the forgiveness of and light I can get with oils.

Drawing and painting are a personal outlet for me, but I also enjoy sharing my view of the world with others. When creating a new piece, I retreat into my mind to capture the feeling I have for the subject.
